Ciao raggazi!

Este post tem como objectivo contar-vos acerca do bufete italiano que se realizou dois dias depois do fantástico jantar de despedida da tela do Armin no nosso apartamento, ou seja, dia 17. Os nossos amigos italianos (que são muitos, "diz que" 16) tiveram a genial ideia de fazer um bufete italiano no recém inaugurado "Common room". Poizé, estes meninos tiveram a árdua e aventurosa tarefa de cozinhar para 70 e tal pessoas!!! Estava tudo óptimo e houve comida que chegue! Eu fiquei cheio e todos sabemos que não é propriamente fácil eu ficar cheio! (aqui o pessoal costuma dizer que eu como por 2... fraquinhos... :)) Houve pizza italiana (a verdadeira), pasta, "bellini" (bebida italiana assim daquela que sabe a suminho!) e outras coisas boas! Escusado dizer que houve festa pela noite dentro e muito boa disposição como é costume. Very goooodeeee!!! (basta verem a cara do Friedl)

Parabéns a todos os italianos que organizaram o jantar e prepararam a comida, eu vi-os a trabalhar arduamente (a dar-lhe forte na massa e tal!).

This post aims to tell you about the italian buffet that took place two days after the fantastic Armin's splint-off/birthday dinner at our flat, or by other words, on the 17th. Our italian friends (who are many, 16 they say) had the brilliant idea of making an italian buffet in the recently inaugurated common room. These kids had the hard and adventurous task of cooking for more than 70 people!!! CRaaAaaaZzyyy!!! But they did it!!! Everything was delicious and there was enough food for everyone! I got full and we know it's not the easiest thing to do :) There was Italian pizza (the true one), pasta, "bellini" (italian tasty drink) and some other good stuff! I don't even need to say there was party all night long and lots of smiles as usual. Very goooodeeee!!! (just look at Friedl's joy!)

Congratulations to all the Italian guys who cooked and made all the arrangements! Everything was great! I saw them working on the stuff and i know many of them worked hard for long hours! Salute!

No passado dia 15 o nosso grande amigo e meu "flat mate" Armin celebrou a tirada da sua tala do joelho (e o seu suposto aniversário). O pobre Armin lesionou-se a jogar à bola uma semana antes de vir para Horsens (!!!) e teve de usar uma tala no joelho durante 12 semanas, ou seja, nada de desporto e futeboladas menino Armin! Finalmente passaram-se as 12 semanas e o menino Armin já pode ser novamente um ser feliz e jogar à bola como todos os outros meninos da sua idade :)

Para celebrar este histórico momento foi organizado um jantar no nosso apartamento (meu, Armin e Matthieu) com alguns convidados íntimos! Como por estes lados está na voga fazer vídeos "muita giros", também resolvi prestar o meu contributo à sociedade e perder umas quantas horas enfiado no computador a fazer esta bela fita que se segue. Muitos de vocês podem não perceber algumas piadas, mas tal facto revela-se perfeitamente natural. Vou explicar algumas: "very goode" é a maneira dos italianos pronunciarem "very good", "skol" é como se brinda na Dinamarca, "skol movement" é algo que foi inventado por nós e que será para sempre imortalizado!

On the last 15th our great friend and my flat mate Armin celebrated his splint removal (and his birthday!). Poor Armin got injured playing football one week before coming to Horsens (!!!) and had to use a splint on his knee for 12 weeks, which means "no sports and football little Armin!". Finally the 12 weeks are gone and little Armin can be again a happy human being and play football like the children of his age :)

To celebrate this historical event a dinner was organised at our flat (mine, Armin's and Matthieu's) with some special guests. Since here it's very "chic" to make cute videos about our parties and our best ridiculous moments i decided to make this lovely movie shown below. Many of you may not understand some jokes contained here but that fact reveals itself as perfectly natural. I'll explain some, so you can grow up as individuals and make this world a better place in the future: "very goode" is the way Italian people say "very good", "skol" is the same as "cheers", "skol movement" is something that we invented and will be immortalized for ever!

É verdade... é verdade... já lá vão 3 semanas.
Justificações: muito estudo (sim!!! época de trabalhos e testes, mas "tranquilo, sócio!"), festa e outras coisas que tais!

Como há muita coisa diferente para contar, vou dedicar um post a cada assunto diferente para permitir "uma leitura mais simplificada ao utilizador".

VIAGEM A COPENHAGA (12/11 - 13/11) - The "very goode" trip

Exactamente há 3 semanas, o "Common Room" da nossa residência - Kamtjatka - foi inaugurado com a festa da praxe - House Warming Party. O melhor mesmo foi termos feito a festa um pouco à parte da festa propriamente dita. Muitos copos e uma bela noite até às tantas da manhã.



Alvorada no dia seguinte: 7h da manhã? Could be. Aqui deu para ver que os alemães também se atrasam de vez em quando (principalmente quando se deitam às 6h da manhã depois de uma noite bem pingada!) :D Eu levantei-me à horinha como bom menino que sou e fui acordar o Armin mais do que uma vez! Gostava que tivessem visto como ele reagiu quando acordou! "Scheisse!! Scheisse!! "#$" "#$"#$ $%#$5 $%#$%". Lindo! Hihi :D



Nesta bela viagem à capital num dia de frio imenso participaram os seguintes elementos:

• Friedrich Schmidt-Modrow, o condutor (DE)

A viagem durou cerca de 2h30 por auto-estrada. Apenas tivemos de pagar a passagem na ponte para a ilha de Copenhaga porque aqui não se paga portagens. Ficámos num hostel 5 estrelas (DanHostel, 17eur./noite) que parecia um verdadeiro hotel com 13 pisos ou algo do género. Ficámos num quarto com uma vista espectacular para o rio, nada comparado com o de Londres (não é por acaso que estamos na Dinamarca, onde tudo é belo!). Estava cheio, mas conseguimos arranjar 1 shared room com 1 senhor de Gales, 1 canadiano e uma rapariga de outro país que não me lembro. Conhecemos americanos e australianos.



Copenhaga é uma cidade deveras bonita, com uma boa atmosfera e não tão grande quanto isso. O Tivoli (parque de diversões) estava fechado e só abria dia 15 para a época de Natal. Parecia bastante interessante visto de fora (montanhas russas, luzinhas, lagos, vegetação e muitas coisas giras!). Visitámos a baixa da cidade, andámos de barco, vimos a PEQUENA sereia, fomos a um bairro hippie, vimos a troca de guarda (estilo UK), gastei 11eur. num McDonald's, fomos sair à noite, etc.

Foi uma excelente viagem, embora estivesse um friozinho engraçado! Uma cidade para rever, sem dúvida!

What has this guy been up to these days?! He doesn't even update this damn thing!
True... true... it's been 3 weeks.
Reasons: too much studying (yessss...! tasks and tests, but it's okaaay!), partying and other nice stuff!

Since there's a lot to tell, i'm going to write a post for each adventure so that it can be easier for the "user" to read.

TRIP TO COPENHAGEN (12/11 - 13/11) - The "very goode" trip

Exactly 3 weeks ago, the Common Room from Kamtjatka (our residence) was inaugurated with a House Warming Party. The best thing was we made a party outside the party until late in the morning.

Rise and shine next day at 7 in the morning? Could be. This time we learned the German sometimes get late too (mainly after going to sleep at 6am after a well drunk night!) :D I got up in time (as usual :D) and went to wake up Armin more than once! I wish you could have seen/heard him! "Scheisse!! Scheisse!! "#$" "#$"#$ $%#$5 $%#$%". Awesome! Hihi :D



This trip to the capital in a very cold day was made by the following individuals:

• Friedrich Schmidt-Modrow, the driver (DE)

The trip lasted 2h30 by highway. We only had to pay the passage through the bridge that goes to Copenhagen's island because here you don't pay for the highway. We stayed in a 5-star hostel (DanHostel, 17eur./night) that looked like a really hotel with 13 floors or something. We stayed in a room with a very nice view over the river, nothing compared to the hostel at London (we are in Denmark, where everything is beautiful and neat!). It was full, but we got a shared room with a gentleman from Wales, a guy from Canada and a girl from a country i don't remember. We met Americans and Australians.



Copenhagen is a beautiful city with a nice atmosphere and not as big as what you might think. Tivoli (amusement park) was closed and only opened on the 15th for the X-mas season. It looked very nice from the outside with the rollercoasters, trees, lakes, lights, etc. We visited the downtown, we went on a boat, we saw the LITTLE Mermaid, we went to a hippie neighbourhood, we saw the guard change (UK style), i spent 11eur. at a McDonald's, we went out at night, etc.

It was an excellent trip, with a funny cold, indeed! A city to visit again, for suuuure!

Mais um excelente vídeo do Fernando! A Freshman Trip foi a nossa festa de boas-vindas, onde estiverem presentes (quase) todos os caloiros (sim, eu sou caloiro!) da faculdade, divididos por 3 diferentes ilhas, e realizou-se no fim de Agosto. Como vão poder ver, houve uma data de excelentes momentos para recordar!

Another outstanding video from Fernando! The Freshman Trip was our "welcome party" where (almost) every freshmen from the school were present, divided in groups by 3 different islands; it took place on the end of August. As you'll see there were lots of moments to be reminded!

Tal como em Portugal, aqui não se celebra vivamente o Halloween. Não há criancinhas com máscaras feias e com cestinhos a pedirem chocolates e rebuçados às portas dos vizinhos. Tal como em Portugal, realizam-se festas de Halloween. Ao contrário de Portugal, dia 1 não é feriado. Muitas caras feias, algum sangue e muita maquiagem! Cerveja quanto baste e muita festa, claro. Vejam este vídeo espectacular que o Fernando fez:



Dia 3 foi um dia bastante especial: foi o dia internacional aqui na faculdade. Providenciaram a cada país 1000kr (134eur) e os membros de cada um tinham de preparar um stand com comida e bebida tradicional (ou isso...) do país. Eu, a Marisa e a Rute começámos a fazer rabanadas e bolo de vinho (bastante improvisado!) às 23h do dia anterior (tradicional? talvez). A manhã do dia 3 começou bem cedinho a descascar batatas e com o stress de cozinhar os pratos principais (sopinha e empadão), fazer a decoração e comprar o que faltava. Muita gente esteve presente e o ambiente foi realmente espectacular! Com tantos stands era difícil provar todas as comidas e como nós éramos apenas 3, tínhamos de estar quase sempre na nossa barraca (pelo menos até a comida e bebida se esgotarem!). Claro que aquilo que demos de beber à rapaziada foi vinho da mais bela cidade do mundo: Porto. E eles gostaram! É docinho!!! E quentinho!!! "Posso beber mais um?" diziam eles e elas. Ai pois não! Não foi difícil encontrar vinho do Porto aqui. Quase todos os supermercados têm, de melhor ou não tão boa qualidade, mas suficientemente bom! A comida chinesa, que estava mesmo ao nosso lado esgotou com 1 velocidade impressionante!! Nem tive tempo de provar... Toda a gente gostou bastante das rabanadas e ficavam muito admiradas quando lhes dizíamos que o que estavam a comer era pão!



À noite houve o lançamento da cerveja de Natal na Dinamarca. Às 21h em ponto! Todos os anos as marcas de cerveja daqui lançam esta cerveja especial, muito boa por sinal. Experimentámos esta cerveja (diversas vezes, claro) no school bar que estava à pinha e depois fomos para o P3, onde houve African Party, que de African não tinha muito...



Sábado houve mais uma festa, Black and White Party, onde mais uma vez não havia muito de Black and White! Fotos seguem no próximo post.

As in Portugal, Halloween is not widely celebrated here. There are no children with scary masks and baskets knocking at their neighbours' doors asking for candy. As in Portugal, there are Halloween parties. Contrary to what happens in Portugal, November 1st is not a holiday. Lots of ugly and scary faces, some blood and a great amount of makeup! Enough beer and lots of partying, of course! Take a look at the great video above that Fernando made.



The 3r of November was a very special day: the international day here at Vitus Bering. The school gave each country 1000kr (134eur) and the members of each had to prepare a stand with traditional (or something like that) food and drinks from their homeland. Me, Marisa and Rute started to cook rabanadas and baking a customized wine cake at 23h from the previous day (traditional? could be). The morning of the international day started very early ripping off potatoes and with the stress of cooking the main dishes (soup and empadão), decorate the place and buy what was still missing. Many people were there and the atmosphere was excellent! With so many stands it was difficult to taste all the foods and since we were only 3, we had to be almost all the time at our stand serving our "lab rats" (at least until they ate and drunk everything!). Of course what we gave people to drink was wine from the most beautiful city in the world: Porto! And they liked it! "It's sweet!" "It's warm!" "Can i have another one please?", they asked. It wasn't difficult to find Port Wine here. Almost every supermarket has some brands of it, some better, some not as awesome, but all of them good enough (it's Port Wine, for fanden!). The Chinese food ended soooo fast! I couldn't even taste it and it was just by my side! Everyone enjoyed the rabanadas and they were really surprised when we said to them that they were eating bread!



That night the Christmasbeer was launched all over Denmark at 21h sharp! Every year all the brands of beer in DK launch this special beer, very tasty indeed. We tried it (many times) at the school bar (it was crowded) and then we moved to the P3, where there was an African Party, but not African at all...



Saturday there was another party, the Black and White Party, once again not with much black and white. Pictures follow in the next post.
